Grand Theft Auto 6 Gets New Trailer After Delay Announcement

Coming just days after the announcement that Grand Theft Auto 6 would be delayed to 2026, Rockstar has compensated fans somewhat with a new trailer for the next entry in the open-world crime series.

The long-awaited return to Vice City may have just gotten longer, but we do get a new trailer

Rockstar Games has just uploaded a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, mere days after the game was delayed out of this year. Perhaps seeing it as some form of incentive to keep players interested - or to keep criticism to a minimum - the new trailer focuses on the two main protagonists, Jason and Lucia, as their life of crime takes an unexpected turn and a whole new world opens up to them.

This new take on Vice City looks absolutely stunning in the trailer, lasting over two and a half minutes. We get more insight on the two protagonists and the characters they will meet as their story in the sun-soaked city unfolds. Rockstar has shared some new info about both protagonists over on their website, alongside some gorgeous new screenshots and concept art, including a look at the Ocean View Hotel from back in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and GTA: Vice City Stories.

A new trailer, some new screenshots, and a look at the game’s characters could be enough to make sure fans are still interested, but with how long has already passed between entries in the series, it might not be enough to keep everyone’s interest. Take Two’s stock took a hit after delaying Grand Theft Auto 6, but it has since seen a resurgence since the trailer went live earlier today. It’s possible this trailer was done to keep shareholders happy when fans became unhappy.

Whether Rockstar will remain silent for the rest of the year and begin to build hype in the months leading up to the release of GTA 6 is anyone’s guess. Their games usually launch with a high level of polish and feature an incredible level of detail, so a delay is always welcome in my opinion. It should also reduce any fears of crunch in the lead-up to release.

What do you think of the new Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer? Is your interest renewed, or have you moved on? Let us know down in the comments.

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
