GOG Adds Original Neverwinter Nights 2 To Its Preservation Program
To celebrate the launch of the Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition, Good Old Games is adding the original Neverwinter Nights 2 to its preservation program and offering a discount of the remaster to owners of the original.
Offering a 15% “loyalty discount” to owners of the original Neverwinter Nights 2 on GOG that stacks with the 10% pre-order discount, players can snag Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition for around €22.50, or your regional equivalent, which is a nice little discount for an upgrade to a game you own.
GOG’s preservation program is designed to keep games running and playable on Windows systems, both current and future versions. Using their own developers, they're committed to ensuring future generations can play old classics that may otherwise fall to the wayside. Not only that, but they're using their resources to squash any bugs or offer quality of life improvements the original developers may not have been able to implement, with the original Neverwinter Nights 2 recently receiving its first GOG update since 2015.
If you are considering picking up Dungeons & Dragons: Neverwinter Nights 2 Enhanced Edition and you are undecided on what platform to pick it up on, GOG might be the perfect place for you if you own the original. Add in the fact the remaster includes all previously released expansions, and you're sure to get your money's worth.
I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
Rollerdrome And OlliOlli World Return To Storefronts
After months of uncertainty if we would ever see either title again, both OlliOlli World and Rollerdrome return to Steam and the Xbox Store.
Guns, skates, explosives. What’s not to love?
Two indie darlings, loved by fans and critics alike, returned to the Steam and Xbox storefronts last week. Both Rollerdrome and OlliOlli World, two smash hits in their own right, were removed alongside a few other titles from both aforementioned storefronts back in February of this year, leaving fans wondering if either game would ever return.
The two titles, originally published under Take-Two’s indie-publishing label, Private Division, were delisted earlier this year, most likely due to a knock-on effect of Private Division’s sale to an unknown buyer, who secured the business from Take-Two in 2024.
While we don’t fully know what the deal entailed regarding IP being held by Private Division, it seems Take-Two decided to hold on to some of them as the relisted titles now feature Take-Two subsidiary, 2K Games as their publisher, giving players that originally missed out an option to purchase both titles.
The return of Rollerdrome and OlliOlli World means that all of the games originally delisted after the Private Division purchase are now fully restored. Many players were concerned after the titles were removed. We might not be able to class this as a win for game preservation, but we can take a breather knowing these digital titles have been returned.
