Xbox’s Copilot AI Planned To Be The “Ultimate Gaming Sidekick”

If you find yourself getting stuck in games or searching for every collectible, does Microsoft have the answer for you: Copilot AI.

We’re more than halfway through the current generation for Xbox, but Microsoft want to keep providing new features for the X|S consoles.

The team over at Xbox has unveiled more information on their upcoming AI coming to the Xbox Insiders program soon, Copilot for Gaming. This gaming-focused AI will be the “ultimate gaming sidekick,” according to the Xbox team. We got a look at some proof of concept examples of Copilot assisting a player during a gameplay session of Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition, and the idea behind it looks appealing.

We got a bit more of an in-depth look during the newest episode of the Official Xbox Podcast, alongside updates to the Xbox Play Anywhere library. During the podcast, Xbox Corporate Vice President of Gaming Al Fatima Kardar and Vice President of Next Generation Jason Ronald discussed the new feature and what it can hopefully do for players in the future.

The idea behind Copilot for Gaming becoming the “ultimate gaming sidekick” is that it is to be there to help you through parts of the game where you get stuck. This personalized gaming companion is there for players who may require additional guidance or advice, offering answers to questions or tips on what to do next. It also offers the ability to give players a refresher on a game they may not have played in a while, which will be helpful for massive RPGs.

They didn’t share a release date for when Copilot will be coming to the general audiences, but Xbox Insiders will get the opportunity to test it on mobile devices first, followed by other devices at a later point.

Would you use an AI to help you in gaming when you are stuck, or would you rather tough it out? Let us know in the comments!

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
