Borderlands 4 Makes Its Way To Switch 2
Nintendo's increased focus on third-party games continues as 2K announces a Nintendo Switch 2 version of Borderlands 4.
If you're a Borderlands fan who's lamenting the ability to play the newest entry in the chaotic looter-shooter series, this news might pique your interest, especially if you've recently picked up a Nintendo Switch 2. Publisher 2K has announced Borderlands 4 will be launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 less than a month after other platforms.
Nintendo fans won't have to wait too much longer to get their hands on their copy of Borderlands 4. While it launches on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles on September 12th, Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive a little later on October 3rd. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has said Borderlands 4 on Nintendo Switch 2, unlike other systems, will “be mostly around 30 fps, with some dips in some intense moments, heavy combats, or if hosting a multiplayer game in handheld mode, etc.”
Pitchford did originally say Borderlands 4 would be targeting 60 fps on the Switch 2, but it seems some sacrifices needed to be made to the frame rate in order to keep as much feature parity with the other platforms. “It was important for us to not cut anything and to support cross play with other platforms,” Pitchford added over on his social media. Another sacrifice is the physical version, with Pitchford alluding to the physical version shipping on a game-key card, not a standard cartridge. “It’s a big game. There will be a download, even for physical copies.”

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
