Borderlands 4 Release Date Moved Up Two Weeks
Most developers delay their games to add polish or to rework gameplay that isn’t as well received as anticipated. But sometimes, developers are also confident enough in their product that they actually move their release dates closer. Borderlands 4 is the next such title.
Borderlands 4: Terminator Edition just got a new release date
Borderlands 4 is still some ways out, but with the latest news from 2K Games, that looks to be changing. Moving from its original release date of September 23rd, Borderlands 4 is now set to launch on September 12th, not quite the full two weeks sooner as advertised. But hey, we’ll take it.
Announced over the official Borderlands social media account, the statement starts out like a traditional announcement of a delay in JPEG form, only for them to take things in the opposite direction and state they’re bringing the release date forward by two weeks, though we’ve already established it’s not exactly two weeks.
Citing much deliberation through multiple meetings and extensive playtesting, 2K Games has made the difficult decision to bring the game to audiences even sooner than anticipated, which is excellent news provided it’s not in the same boat as many other modern-day releases and launching still laden with bugs.
To make things even more bearable, 2K has partnered with Sony for a special Borderlands 4-exclusive State of Play taking place tomorrow, April 30th at 10pm, IST. This extended deep dive will focus on gameplay featuring new weapons, abilities, and story missions. The showcase will only be 20 minutes long, but here’s hoping every minute is jam-packed with gameplay.
