GTA 6 Is Still Slated for 2025 Claims Take-Two

We haven’t had a whole lot of news on Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6. While that’s not uncommon for Rockstar to keep things under wraps until they’re ready, Take-Two Interactive have come out and confirmed that we can still expect the long-awaited GTA entry this year.

“It’s still coming this year, we promise.” - Take-Two, probably.

Grand Theft Auto VI is still on course for 2025, Take-Two Interactive has confirmed in an earnings call. While other games are also on Take-Two’s release slate this year, nothing compares to the juggernaut release of a brand new entry in the open-world crime fantasy series.

Remember when the GTA 6 official announcement trailer was revealed last year? Yes, that was only last year. Since then, it has garnered over 245 million views on the official Rockstar Games YouTube account. But after that, we haven’t really had much in the way of information. Even the earnings call basically just confirms it will launch this year, alongside other noticeable releases like Mafia: The Old Country and Borderlands 4.

Saying “We forecast that Calendar Year 2025 will be an inflection point for Take-Two — from the groundbreaking release of Grand Theft Auto 6 in the Fall, to the unmatched pipeline that 2K is set to deliver, including Civilization VII on February 11th, Mafia: The Old Country in the Summer, and Borderlands 4,” Take-Two didn’t elaborate further on when to expect Grand Theft Auto 6.

If Rockstar continues their tradition of releasing information before the game’s release, we should expect more updates on GTA 6 roughly six months prior to release, though that’s just a guess on my part. And with an autumn release date, we might even get more information sometime around April.

It’s been 12 years since the release of Grand Theft Auto V, which is the average sentence in Azkaban last I checked. Players are eager for the next iteration of the open-world series. The wait is lengthened considerably by the continuous success of GTA Online. It remains to be seen when we will see information on the next GTA Online or what shape it’ll form, but that most likely will be a few weeks after the main game’s release.

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
