Jotunnslayer: Hordes Of Hel Release Date Announced, Console Launch Confirmed
Publisher Grindstone has just announced that its horde-survivor rogue like Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel will be releasing into 1.0 later this year, alongside a console launch.
The announcement comes via the team's Discord, with the update also shared on the game's Steam page. Targeting a September 3rd release, Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel will launch with its biggest update yet when it hits PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S consoles simultaneously.
The 1.0 release is chock full of new features and abilities for players to jump in and try out. Headlining these new additions is the Endless Mode, which as the name suggests, sees the Jotunnslayers trying to hold our against wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies in a bid to see how long they can really last. A new class will also be available for players to try out. The Kinslayer is described as a fallen Valkyrie with a score to settle. Players can also earn the favour of a new Deity in the form of Nidhogg, granting them the power to wield the chaotic World Serpent. All of this can be played on the new Helheim map, where the Jotunnslayers must topple another of the infamous Jotunn.
In the blog Grindstone also announced Jotunnslayer will see a price increase. It's currently sitting at a humble €9.99 (or your regional equivalent), but will see a slight increase with the 1.0 release to €14.99. The team has said this small increase in price is to reflect on the expanded content from the early access release, additional polish, and to ensure continued development. As an added bonus, if you haven't nabbed a copy just yet, it will remain at the current price of €9.99 all the way through to July 25th.
The team has rounded out the blog post by advising players to stay tuned" for further news and announcements. I covered my initial thoughts on Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel in my very first Have You Heard Of This? where I had a blast playing it and I recommend picking it up.
I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
