Rumour Has It: Marvel's Wolverine Pushed To 2027, Marvel's Venom Releasing In 2026

A rumour has recently surfaced that Marvel's Wolverine will be releasing in 2027, with Marvel's Spider-Man spin-off Marvel's Venom coming first in 2026.

If you've been expecting Marvel’s Wolverine to be the next title coming from Insomniac Games now that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was released and there was no additional DLC, you might have to wait a little bit longer to play as the beloved X-Man. That is if the latest rumour from YouTuber The MaggShow is to be believed.

MaggShow shared the news over on his YouTube channel. Marvel's Venom will be bigger than previous entry Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, but will be smaller in scope than Marvel's Spider-Man 2, according to his sources. It's unclear if a Venom spin-off was always planned, but it would make sense as certain assets and models already exist, making it an easy project to work on without having to wait around five years for a new title.

Nothing is officially confirmed, but a Marvel's Venom game could potentially lead into the Marvel's Spider-Man 3 if things go well. It will be interesting to see if either title ties into Marvel's Wolverine when it launches or if they're part of a shared universe. With Insomniac behind both series, it's definitely possible. With the leak of Insomniac’s roadmap back in 2023 resulting in a premature look at Marvel's Wolverine, it's no surprise it won't be arriving until 2027. Hopefully the release of a Venom spin-off can keep us busy I til then.

Would you play a Venom game or would you rather just have Marvel's Wolverine instead? Let us know in the comments.

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
