Killing Floor 3 Pushed Back After Beta Feedback

Killing Floor 3 had a closed beta recently and it did not go over well with fans. As such, developer Tripwire Interactive have pushed it back to later this year.

Maybe the jump into the far future was not what fans were looking for.

The closed beta for Killing Floor 3 came and went recently and I missed the cut-off point for sign ups. But it seems that may have been a good thing as fan feedback from the recent gameplay segment reveals it has not quite resonated with the majority of the fan base as the developers would have liked.

It seems that the current build of the game, originally slated to launch later this month, is laden with all manner of bugs and frame rate issues. Fans have pointed out a litany of problems they experienced during the test period, including inconsistent frame rates, poor netcode, visual glitches, and other stuttering effects. Other than just the technical aspects, players also shared their criticisms about how the gameplay feels, focusing on the gun system, how unimpressive guns feel to shoot, and unresponsive and generic-feeling enemies.

But it seems that Tripwire Interactive has taken the feedback to heart, as they have announced Killing Floor 3 will no longer be releasing this month as planned, instead pushing it to an undecided later date as announced over on their Twitter.

Alongside the delay, Tripwire also announced pre-orders would be cancelled on platforms, with the exception of Steam, where players will have to manually request a cancellation and refund. After such a rocky beta, the developers will be working hard to implement updates and fixes from player feedback before promising to come back with more information when more progress has been made.

How do you feel about this delay? Were you one of the (un)lucky beta players? Sound off in the comments.

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
