The Rogue Prince of Persia Parkours Onto Consoles

After more than a year in Early Access, The Rogue Prince of Persia has launched in full, making a surprise arrival on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S (including Game Pass and Cloud), and PC, with Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 versions due later in 2025.

Developed by Evil Empire—best known for their work on Dead Cells— The Rogue Prince of Persia is a platformer that blends the franchise’s signature acrobatics with evolving progression systems and fluid combat.

The game introduces a roguelite structure where each run sends players back to the mystical Oasis. Soul Cinders collected in battle can be spent on unlocking new weapons, medallions, and buffs across multiple skill trees, while the narrative-driven Mind Map tracks story progress and character interactions.

Combat builds on classic Prince of Persia movement, offering wall-runs, vaults, and pole swings enhanced with customizable loadouts and medallion upgrades. This flexibility encourages experimentation, letting players approach encounters with a mix of precision and creativity.

Over fifteen major updates during Early Access refined the game’s systems, added new biomes and weapons, and polished the art style based on player feedback. The result is a feature-complete release praised for its care and responsiveness to the community.

Visually, the game leans into hand-drawn, comic-inspired animation that gives battles and environments both clarity and flair. Combined with the fast-paced roguelite structure, the art direction keeps each run feeling stylish and fresh.

Early reviews have been positive, with a strong Metacritic score highlighting its combat depth, platforming precision, and bold reinvention of a classic series. Ubisoft also confirmed continued support may follow if the game proves especially popular on its new platforms.

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
