Battlefield 6 Trailer Sets A Grim Tone For Campaign
The Battlefield 6 trailer went live and we got to see a return to form for EA’s FPS mainstay. With multiplayer reveal set for next week, the first Battlefield 6 trailer showcases the campaign, with plenty of crashing helicopters, the sacking of New York City, and a patriotic speech that'll make you go “Oo-rah.”
Starting with a slow-burning build to the background of a presidential speech to rally the troops against the Pax Armata, a private military company on the bankroll of former NATO states (thanks EA), and one thing is clear from the Battlefield 6 trailer: EA and Battlefield Studios are taking the series' transition back to a gritty and realistic shooter seriously. At least for the campaign. While there have been some rumours and leaks about the multiplayer, nothing so far seems to point to it having absurd skins like other shooters on the market… yet. And while EA is sure to monetize Battlefield 6 as best it can, so far things seem settled on keeping it in line with the likes of Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and the Battlefield: Bad Company series.
The trailer seems to draw a lot of inspiration from military movies, past Battlefield games, and some scenes that also reminded me of Infinity Ward's original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare series. From slow infiltrations to dogfights in jets, hardcore Battlefield fans have a lot to look forward to, though they have been vocal about their caution in the comments of the trailer and across social media.
We get to see a variety of locales throughout the trailer, from large-scale naval warfare, to racing through ravines on quad bikes, and a heavy focus on urban combat. The series' beloved destruction also looks to be back in full force, with enough building damage to level a small city. While it's not fully confirmed yet, it seems the war will take place across multiple countries, and players will most likely be fighting defensively and offensively. Players can take to the skies in jets or work with their squad on the ground to clear buildings. And all features shown in the single-player will be available in multiplayer, too.
We'll get more information on Battlefield 6 on July 31st, where Battlefield Studios will be promoting the game's multiplayer, which EA are touting as “the most ambitious title in the series' history.” We'll get our first real look at maps, game modes new and old, weaponry, and more. If that's not enough, certain first-person shooter content creators will also be streaming the first full Battlefield 6 multiplayer gameplay across YouTube and Twitch. There's a lot to look forward to next week!

I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
