Dying Light Gets New Graphical Update Today
To help celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the Dying Light series, developer Techland has pushed out a new graphical update for the original Dying Light.
One of the best zombie games of all time just got a new look
With the release of Dying Light: The Beast coming this August, now might be the perfect time for a refresher on where the series began. Seeing as Dying Light: The Beast features returning series protagonist, Kyle Crane, after years of horrible experiments at the hands of some particularly nasty people.
But if you’re keen to see how the story leads up to The Beast and want to go back for a fresh playthrough, now is as good a time as any. Even if you only get an hour or two a day to play, you’ll have enough time to finish. And what better way to do it than with a fresh coat of paint? As part of the 10 year anniversary of the series, the development team over at Techland has released a new graphical update for the original Dying Light called the Retouched update.
The Retouched update goes live today across every platform Dying Light is available on and is free to all owners of the game. As the main part of the update, players can experience increased texture quality and resolution, alongside enhanced lighting and physics rendering. Lastly, the team worked alongside original composer Paweł Blaszczak to completely remaster the game’s soundtrack and further improve the game’s audio.
The blog post over on the official Dying Light website is well worth a read as it goes into more details about what to expect and discusses what the developers have done to make Dying Light look the best it possibly can.
Will you give Dying Light another shot before The Beast launches in August? Let us know in the comments.
I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
