Replaced Suffers Yet Another Delay
Upcoming 2.5D action-platformer Replaced has been postponed once more, pushing it out of 2025.
Is it still classed as a Cyberpunk setting if it’s an alternate 1980s?
Anyone looking forward to the 2.5 action-platformer Replaced will have to wait a while longer. The publisher behind the upcoming sci-fi retro-future romp through alternate 1980s Americana, Thunderful Group, has announced yet another delay, bringing the delay total to three overall.
The announcement came via the company’s latest financial report. Briefly touching on announced releases of externally developed games, second on the list is Replaced, now with a generic 2026 release window. It’s slated to be launched on PC and consoles, but unfortunately, Thunderful Group doesn’t provide us with much additional information.
Replaced was originally announced back in 2021 targeting a 2022 release, though the war in Ukraine pushed it from the original release with another delay announced last year, this time targeting a 2025 launch to add some additional refinement. Now that release has been pushed back once again, however, it seems no new reason has been provided for this delay.
Players will be taking the role of R.E.A.C.H. - an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its own will. The game will feature free-flow action combat and cinematic platforming in a pixel art style against a deep, engaging dystopian story backdrop in an alternative version of 1980s America when it finally releases. Are you still looking forward to Replaced despite the delays? Sound off in the comments!
I created this website as I feel the state of the games industry and games reporting as a whole has gotten overly negative and full of clickbait. While I understand both of these are a great way to generate engagement, it’s a detriment to those gamers (like myself) that are just trying to enjoy games and not have to worry about the negativity of the current state of the gaming industry. I want a space where gamers can come for unbiased news that doesn’t rely on clickbait or rumours with a dash of humour and have the opportunity to share their passion for games.
