The Blood of Dawnwalker Targeting 30-40 Hour Long Runtime

Vampiric action RPG The Blood of Dawnwalker is aiming to be a bit on the leaner side, aiming for an average runtime of around 30 to 40 hours, unlike most modern RPGs of late.

Fans of shorter games, rejoice! Unlike its brethren, The Blood of Dawnwalker is targeting a shorter run time of around 30 to 40 hours. This news comes way of the developers over at Rebel Wolves’ Creative Director Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz during an interview with GamesRadar+. During the interview, Tomaszkiewicz opened up a little more about what players can expect from Rebel Wolves’ passion project.

The team over at Rebel Wolves features talent that departed CD: Projekt Red to start their own development studio, including staff that worked on both The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077. Having careers that span numerous lengths of time, including Mateusz’s own brother, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who spent 17 years at the Polish development studio, the brothers departed to focus on smaller-scale projects using their expertise in RPGs to give players a leaner gameplay experience.

And that’s just what The Blood of Dawnwalker appears to be. Though the studio is smaller than the likes of CDPR, and this is Rebel Wolves’ first game, Mateusz went on to say that the team is focusing more on quality than overall game length, hoping the finished project lands between the 30- to 40-hour mark.

More games like this, please. With so many games releasing in such short time frames, longer games make it hard for gamers to spend their limited free time. And that’s not counting live service games that people play. My schedule can only take so much! Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
